Simmtronics launches 7 inch tablet for Rs 4,600


It is a WiFi only tablet but offer dongle connectivity for 3G.

Simmtronics, an India based electronics and tablet manufacturer, has launched its first tablet in India, called XPAD X-720. The tablet comes with Android 4.0 and 7 inch capacitive touch display with 480x800 resolution.

It is a WiFi only tablet but offer dongle connectivity for 3G. Xpad X720 runs on a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and also offers gravity and accelerometer sensors.

The tablet has been manufactured in India by Simmtronics, and will soon be available in all leading stores along with e-commerce websites at price point of Rs 4,600.

Indrajit Sabharwal, managing director, Simmtronics said, "In our strategy to reach out to our audience with most innovative products, we have launched XPAD X-720 which features Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 with capacitive multi touch screen. This tablet PC is packed with exciting applications to appeal the youth and deliver best gaming and computing experience to the users."

The tablet has 512 MB of DDR3 RAM, 4 GB internal memory and micro SD card support of up to 32 GB. There is a front facing VGA camera as well, however there is no rear camera. The tablet utilises 2800mAH battery.

While the price of the tablet is attractive, it is not game changing for sure. All will depend on how well the tablet is built and how well it performs.
