Mercury unveils 7-inch tablet mTAB7, priced at Rs 6,499


Kobian has unveiled an ultra-thin tablet, the Mercury mTAB7, priced attractively at Rs 6,499. The tablet comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. Other specifications of the tablet include a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 512MB DDRM and 4GB storage. The mTAB7 is incorporated with an in-built Wi-Fi, and a long battery backup.

Mercury mTAB7 operates on the Android v4.0 platform. As per an official statement released by Kobian, the tablet weighs 300 grams. The 7-inch touchscreen gives a vivid and clear picture, a stable response time of liquid crystal, and its smart driving technology.

Mercury mTAB7 supports 32GB extendable memory through MicroSD card. Kobian states that the tablet supports Adobe Flash 11.1. The 0.3-megapixel front camera enables the user to capture memorable moments, and have video chats as well.  It also allows connectivity to 3G through a dongle, and offers an HDMI output. It has a built-in speaker with full HD will be a great for those who enjoy music.

We are not preloading with applications as we believe that the customer has a wide array of choices and they can download and access Apps easily through the Wi-Fi support".

The Mercury mTAB7 is available with 1 year warranty.

Earlier this month, in a goodwill gesture towards its buyers inconvenienced by the delay in the launch of the Mercury mTab Rio 9.7-inch tablet, Kobian offered a leather case worth Rs 699 for free with the tablet. In an official statement, the company stated that the Mercury mTab Rio 9.7-inch model was to be launched in September 2012. However, a minor problem was found with dongle connectivity in the pre-release tests, prompting the company to hold back the entire launch, and fix the problem instead. Mercury mTab Rio 9.7-inch tablet shall be available only in October 2012 now.
