Google Play Movies, TV shows, and Music arrive on Google TV devices

Google has announced a much awaited feature for the Google TV owners. The GTV users will now be able to buy or rent movies, TV shows, and Music from Google Play.

Yes, the feature was not available until now, while normal Android users had access to these and more on Google Play.

“You’ll be able to buy or rent content directly through the Google Play Store on Google TV, and purchases you’ve made on other devices will also be automatically available on Google TV,” Ambarish Kenghe, Google TV Product Manager posted on official Google TV blog.

The current Google Play update now only has goodies for consumers but also for developers. According to Google, this update also enables many other Google Play features including auto-updates, subscription billing, and smart app updates.

Google has however not revealed about the regional availability of this feature, all these content types should be available in the United States, but we are not sure right now about other countries where Google TV devices are currently available.

According to the company, Google Play update starts rolling out tonight and should continue spreading over the next few weeks.
