Is Intel Lexington the INR 7,000 Intel-powered Android phone heading to India?

We recently heard about Intel’s plans to launch Android phones for as low as INR 7,000 in the Indian market and now a report from Unwired View has come out with one such device that fits the bill perfectly.

Codenamed Intel Lexington, it is supposed heading to Kenya, but that does not mean we cannot see it in India. From the looks of it, it seems like a reference design, so it is likely to launch with branding from some other company.  There is no word on the specs, but looking at the image, we expect a 3.2 or 3.5-inch HVGA display and OS is likely to be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Apart from Motorola RAZR i, most of the Intel-powered Android smartphones have been based Intel’s reference designs like XOLO X900, so Intel Lexington makes perfect sense and Indian mobile manufacturers will be happy to re-brand it and sell it in the country  for INR 7,000 or similar pricing.
