Microsoft testing Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft has already commenced testing the Windows Phone 8.1 update internally as the build gets listed in the website visit logs.

Microsoft is testing the Windows Phone 8.1 build, according to a Chinese website - WPDang. The website has claimed to have spotted Windows Phone 8.1 moniker build Microsoft still has not officially announced the Windows Phone 8.1 update arrival date.

Recently, Microsoft in its official Windows Phone Blog revealed the features of Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update. In the past, Windows Phone builds with 8.10.xxxxx.xx numerals were spotted. The latest citing goes to the Windows Phone 8.10.12166.0 build that clearly carries the Windows Phone 8.10 in it.

However, before the Windows Phone 8.1 update arrives, Microsoft is rumoured to bring Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update that would enable 1080p HD display support along with other features. The Windows Phone 8 GDR3 is rumoured to arrive sometime in the October this year. These updates are set to benefit the rumoured large screen Nokia Lumia smartphones due for launch in late September.
