My Xbox Live app now available for Android

Microsoft has released My Xbox Live app for Android with basic functions but has more features than its iOS version.

Microsoft has finally released the official My Xbox Live app for the Google Android platform. Meanwhile the company has also pushed an update for its My Xbox Live app for iOS devices. The My Xbox Live app for Android will let the Xbox Live account holders to send and receive messages from their friends. Very basic features have been added in the first version of the My Xbox Live app for Android.

The new My Xbox Live app for Android brings basic features such as tracking as well as comparing the achievements, change the 3D Avatar, message the Xbox Live friends, and edit the Live profile.

Microsoft's My Xbox Live app for iOS platform has been also updated with capability beyond the basic messaging and profile customisation. The new updated My Xbox Live App for iOS will allow the users to turn their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into a remote control and access the entertainment content resting on the Xbox 360 game console. Now the app will allow the user to perform playback functions such as play, pause, rewind, forward, and fast-forward using this app.

Earlier this month, Microsoft had demonstrated its new SmartGlass companion app that will enable mobile devices to connect with HD TV directly and perform content playback as well as exchange. We believe that this technology will be integrated inside the My Xbox Live app.

The new My Xbox Live app for Android can be downloaded from Google Play store and the updated My Xbox Live app for iOS can be downloaded from Apple App store.
