Micromax offers interactive study material, slashes price of accessories

Micromax has been pitching its Funbook as a complete educational tablet. The tablet with interactive learning features blends in education with entertainment, and is aimed at school and college students. Also, the company has now extended its line of accessories with a leather case, an HD screen protector and a car charger. And the highlight is interactive CBSE study material bundled in a 4GB microSD card priced at  799. The study material, useful for students from Class 1 to Class 12 includes study content, lesson plan, assessment, and peer interaction. Only Science studies material is available for Class 11 and 12.

The study material is in the form of 25 multimedia files containing lesson content, 2 topic tests, weblinks, syllabus and structured course plan. Micromax says that its course objective is to make topics comprehensible and graspable by animations and pictorial representation. There are a handful of e-learning tablets in the market. While the form factor and other elements decide the performance of a tablet, the e-learning material bundled with the device is equally important. The upcoming Aakash 2 promises a lot of study material, its build quality and timely delivery are questionable. Funbook is a complete value-for-money tablet and a strong performer, but the e-learning content it offered earlier was a mere Vriti app, which isn’t something exclusive to Micromax. You can download the app from the app store Google Play. The new microSD bundled with study material seems like a good addition to its e-learning content. Moreover, it has been neatly segregated classwise. However, the question remains, are students ready to replace their books with tablets?

The Micromax Funbook has been designed to make learning fun, with a twist of technology. The tablet has an app that neatly places e-learning content, games, Live TV and entertainment in a single view, making it easier for students to choose. Click here to read a complete review of the Funbook.
