The smaller tablet is likely to get a 7.5 inch display and a lower price tag that might be enough to woo the customers.
Microsoft, which was earlier reported to be launching a 7 inch display based Surface tablet, is reported to be readying a 7.5 inch display based tablet.
CNET quoted Richard Shim, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch, as saying this.
The 7.5 inch display will be a tad smaller than the iPad Mini's 7.8 inch display; the WiFi only model of which is presently selling in the market for around Rs 21,900.
The suggested hardware specifications of the said Microsoft tablet include a dual core processor running the Windows 8 build, 1280 x 800 pixel display and similar keypad that the Surface tablet come with in order to bump up its utility by multifold.
However all will still be just a rumor until official word comes out. The 7.5 inch surface is likely to go in production this year as earlier reports have suggested but everything boils down to wait that users will have to do inevitably.
