Opera launches new improved browser for Android

The new browser offers a refreshed user interface and a new data compression technology for users on the go.

Opera has announced the launch of its latest version of the mobile browser for Android devices. It comes with a totally redesigned interface and a lighter colour scheme. The bookmarks or the speed dial page has also been redesigned for better and faster access; users can also now watch the open tables in full screen.

The new Opera browser for Android also comes with the discover page that offers customisable news feed for users who would like to discover what's happening around them.

The new browser also comes with a brand new data saving feature, called "off road mode". This data saving feature compresses the data so that users get faster data access and even when the connection is slow or erratic the browsing expiring for the users is uninterrupted.

Some of the user interface and accessibility improvements include automatic text wrapping while zooming in to the page so that users do not need to scroll sideways to read the text on any given page.

The new browser is available on the Google Play store for Android devices running version 2.1 and above. Features though are likely to vary for various Android versions.
