Lenovo teases P780 Android phone with 4,000 mAh battery

Lenovo is planning to launch a new smartphone in the form of P780 in the coming days. The company has released a behind-the-scenes video of Lenovo’s upcoming P780 ad campaign, in which NBA star Kobe Bryant is shown teasing the smartphone.

According to information available at various Chinese website as well some official Lenovo accounts on weibo, the P780 will be featuring a massive 4,000 mAh battery along with 5-inch display. The screen is supposedly 720p HD.

According to Engadget, the phone will be just 9.9mm thick and come with a “super sensitive touch technology,” which support gloves and non-capacitive stylus.

The phone is also reportedly coming with a quad-core Mediatek processor and dual-SIM support. A listing on some random Chinese e-retailer confirms these specs and also adds that the Lenovo P780 will feature 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Android 4.2, 8MP rear camera and the usual connectivity options.  The same listing has noted the pricing to be $400 but we will take that with a pinch of salt despite the fact that it seems about right for the given specs.

There is no word on the release of the phone, but we are expecting to see an official announcement in the coming days, probably around the time K900 goes on sale.

The phone will most probably be released in China along with some other Asian countries like India and Philippines.
