Samsung to launch entry-level Galaxy Pocket Neo soon

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a new Android smartphone dubbed as Galaxy Pocket Neo. As the name suggests the smartphone will be entry-level model and come with basic specifications.  This is the second Samsung Android phone that we are hearing about in the budget segment. Earlier, there were rumours of a phone called ‘Galaxy Star,’ but it is still due to make a debut.

According to a report in SamMobile, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo will come with a 3-inch display with QVGA resolution, 2MP rear camera and 3G connectivity. There is no word on the processor and RAM in the smartphone, but it will apparently be available in both dual-SIM as well as single-SIM options, which is not new for Samsung’s budget Android offerings.

The Pocket Neo will also feature connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi,  and A-GPS. It will be 11.8 mm thick and will be known as model number GT-S5310 (single SIM) and GT-S5312 (dual-SIM). There is no word on the Android version in this phone either.

SamMobile adds that the phone will be made available before mid-May in Silver colour option.

To remind you, previously rumoured Samsung Galaxy Star will also come with 3-inch QVGA display. Among other specs, the phone will feature Android 4.1, 1200 mAh battery, 2MP rear camera, Spreadtrum CPU and 4GB of internal storage.

Given company’s past success in the budget segment, no wonder that the Korean manufacturer wants to release multiple devices in the price-range.
