Salora launches Jelly Bean tablet for Rs 5,499

Salora has 2 tabs with a 7inch display, while the cheaper one gets 800x480 pixel resolution & 512 MB RAM; at a slightly higher price you get 1280x600 pixel resolution & 1 GB RAM.

Salora, a well-known TV brand from yesteryear, and a new entrant in the Android device market, has launched its first two Android tablets in India, priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 5,499. Both tablets get 7 inch displays and support only WiFi. Both get 4 GB inbuilt memory, a 3200 mAh battery and 0.3 megapixel camera in the front and no rear camera. However, both are different in other aspects and while the cheaper Salora Pro tab runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system the Salora Pro Tab HD is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Salora Pro Tab has a 1.5 GHz dual core processor coupled with 512 MB RAM and has a 0.3 megapixel front camera, and 3200 mAh battery. The tablet comes with inbuilt memory of 4 GB. The display of this tablet supports WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution. Salora Pro Tab HD, on the other hand, supports better resolution of 1280 x 600 pixel and also gets a better 1 GB RAM, but only a 1.2 GHz processor. Given that it has better RAM and Android Jelly Bean performance should be appreciably better and the display resolution is also much higher.

Since the price difference between the two is only Rs 500 we think one should opt for the Salora Pro Tab HD. We will get the tablets soon for review, only then will we be able to say whether they are indeed worth your money.
