Sony Ericsson Nozomi and Aoba to compete with Nexus Prime?

With Sony Ericsson convinced that Android is the way forward, these two mysterious phones that recently popped up on the grid maybe more than just vapour ware. The Nozomi had surfaced once before, as well, but now that and another handset supposedly called Aoba also showed up in Android’s Nenamark database. Both the phones are said to sport an HD display (1280x720 pixel resolutions) and will be running Ice Cream Sandwich. If these devices really do launch, they will be competing directly with Samsung’s soon to be announced Nexus Prime.

The Nozomi was rumoured to sport a 4.3-inch screen and pack in a speedy dual-core 1.5GHz processor, along with 1GB of RAM. If the HD screen reported actually pans out, then the 4.3-inch screen coupled with the HD resolution gives it a whopping 342ppi, which is the highest we’ve seen till date. The test scores showed both the phones running Gingerbread (2.3.5), but in all probability, it will launch with Ice Cream Sandwich. The Aoba, on the other hand is said to sport the same internals, but we still don’t have any details about the screen size or the camera sensor. Hopefully, we’ll get some more info in the coming months.
