Motorola Defy+ available on Flipkart for Rs. 17,990.

Motorola’s latest rugged Android phone, the Defy+ is finally available in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 17,990. The phone is available for purchase from Flipkart. The Defy+ was originally announced back in August, this year. The exterior of the device is the same as the original, which means it is water-resistant and dust proof. The two phones look identical as well.

The phone has Gingerbread 2.3 with MOTOBLUR running on top and since it’s a 1GHz processor, we can safely assume that the user experience will not be sluggish like the Fire and the Fire XT that we reviewed. The only noticeable con in the hardware currently is that the phone doesn’t have a front camera.

Here are the specs of the Defy+

1.> 3.7-inch TFT Capacitive Touchscreen with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution
2.> 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot
3.> GPS with A-GPS support and Google Maps
4.> Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, EDR
5.> 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash
6.> Stereo FM radio with RDS
7.> Memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card
8.> 3.5 mm handsfree socket

This phone definitely has competition from Sony in the form of the Xperia Active, but the design of the 3-inch Active is a little cutesy and might not be a crowd favourite. On the other hand, the Defy+ has a relatively bigger 3.7-inch screen. At Rs. 17,990, does it look like your next Android smartphone? Let us know in the comments section below.
