Samsung televisions may come with Google TV, next year.

Samsung Electronics will in all probability roll out the Google TV software on their televisions, confirms a report by the Wall Street Journal. The South Korea-based technology giant is in the final stage of its talks with the search giant, Google and if things go as per plans for Samsung, then a launch is imminent by the next year. Google TV has been creating quite some waves around. This fairly new venture by Google allows consumers to surf the Internet on their TVs, check e-mail and also create social networks, just like they'd do on their PCs and smartphones.

Earlier this month, we had also reported about yet another technology major, LG looking in the same direction. LG plans to showcase their televisions loaded with Google TV at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will be held in January, next year. Even before LG and Samsung, Sony Corp. and Logitech had shown their interests in adopting the Google TV technology into their televisions. However, things don't seem quite taken off for the two, and LG reportedly walked in to fill the gap.

Now, with Samsung in the game, too, we're surely heading towards good times. Samsung, by shipment figures is the world's largest maker of flat-screen televisions and now with Google TV onboard, Samsung is hoping for enhanced profits, especially in the wake of the global economic slowdown.
