Moto G4 finally goes on sale in India at Rs. 12,499 exclusively via Amazon

Moto G4 has finally gone up for sale in India for Rs. 12,499. The sale of the device will begin on Amazon at midnight, tonight.

The Moto G4 will be up for sale in Black and White colors, just like the Moto G4 Plus. It will be exclusively available via Amazon, starting from tonight. The Moto G4 features a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, much better than its predecessors Moto G3 and G2. Same goes for the processing power, which is now powered by a higher-end Snapdragon chipset.

Huawei unveils metal-clad Honor 5C with Kirin 650 chipset in India for Rs. 10,999

As expected, Huawei has finally announced the Honor 5C smartphone in India. The device is a successor to the Honor 4C, which was launched in 2015. It will be up for sale in Grey, Silver and Gold color options at Rs. 10,999, exclusively on Honor store and Flipkart through flash sale starting on June 30. The registrations for the first sale will begin from today. In addition, the Honor 5C comes with free screen replacement for one month and 15 months of warranty.

Coming on to the specs, the device features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display, and is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 650 16nm chipset. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 skin on top. It sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. In addition, it also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear, which is touted by the company to unlock the device in 0.5 seconds. It offers multi-band 2G/3G connectivity (standard variant) along with Cat.6 LTE (4G version only) for speeds up to 300Mbps (maximum) and 50Mbps (minimum).

Micromax launches Canvas Fire 5 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow at Rs. 6,199

Micromax has come up with yet another affordable smartphone in its Canvas Fire series, dubbed as Canvas Fire 5. The device is targeted at music lovers and features such as front firing speakers and Auro 3D sound. It has been priced at Rs. 6,199 and comes with a 6month free access to premium Gaana+ services offering unlimited song downloads. In terms of availability, the device will be up for sale in Champagne, Grey, and Silver color options through Micromax’s offline channels.

Coming on to the specifications, the Canvas Fire 5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset paired with 1GB of RAM. It bears 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sports an 8-megapixel of a rear camera along with a 5-megapixel of front snapper. The connectivity options include dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. It would have been better if Micromax the device was equipped with 4G LTE connectivity.

HTC Desire 630 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 4G LTE launched in India

At the MWC 2016, HTC unveiled many devices including the Desire 630. Today, the device has been made official in India. The Desire 630 is up for sale via retail stores and official HTC India eStore in Graphite Grey Remix and Stratus White Remix colors, for a price of Rs. 14,990.

HTC Desire 630 is a slightly smaller phone than Desire 825 and features a 5-inch display of 720p. Its exterior would be similar to that of HTC Desire 825 and comes with Hi-Res audio set-up. The process would be S400 chipset (2GB RAM, 16GB storage) and single-band Wi-Fi (b/g/n). The HTC Desire 630 will be dual-SIM only. The battery is also slightly smaller, 2,200mAh battery.

Oppo A37 with 7.6mm slim body and 4G LTE announced for global markets

After a series of teasers, the Oppo A37 had finally been made official worldwide. The smartphone was first introduced in China, in April. The device will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Grey color options, for a price of $199 (Rs. 13400 approx.), which will distinguish market-wise. We expect the device to go on sale in India soon.

The Oppo A37 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo’s in-house ColorOS 3.0 on top. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1/3.2-inch BSI sensor,1080p video recording, along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture,1/4-inch sensor, and OmniBSI+. Unlike the one launched in China, the global variant comes powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset in lieu of MediaTek’s octa-core MT6750 chipset. The device support dual-SIM connectivity (nano), which is yet again different from its Chinese variant that comes with Hybrid dual-SIM support. The main highlight in terms of design is its 7.6mm slim body.

Asus ZenPad Z8 with Snapdragon 650 and 4G LTE goes official

Asus has come up with yet another ZenPad, dubbed as the ZenPad Z8 (ZT581KL). The tablet features a 7.9-inch QXGA display with a resolution of (2048×1536 pixels) and is powered a 64-bit hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset (4x 1.4GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A72). The tablet also features Dual front-facing stereo speakers.

On the software front, the ZenPad 8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZenUI skin on top. It sports an 8-megapixel of a primary camera along with a 2-megapixel front snapper. The tablet has been priced at $249.99 (approx. Rs. 16,825) and will be available in Black color variant.

Panasonic P75 announced with massive 5000mAh battery for Rs. 5,990

Panasonic has come up with yet another affordable offering in its P series of smartphones, dubbed as the Panasonic P75. The device comes with a 5000mAh of massive battery and 5-inch HD screen. The smartphone will be available in Champagne Gold and Sand Black color options for Rs. 5,990 along with a free screen protector worth Rs. 399.

The Panasonic P75 is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core chipset clubbed with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Sail UI on top, and sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash along with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

Huawei Honor 5C most likely to launch on June 22 in India


Huawei Honor India has started sending out the media invites for an event slated for June 22. We expect it to be the launch of the Honor 5C, which is a successor to the last year’s Honor 4C.

The device has already been launched in China and is available in 3G and 4G variants. In China, the device is retailing at CNY 899 (approx. Rs.9,200) for the 3G variant while the 4G LTE variant is priced at CNY 999 (approx. Rs.10,200).

Coming on to the specifications, the Honor 5C comes with a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS LCD display and is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 650 octa-core processor paired with Mali T830 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Emoticon UI 4.1 and bears 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). It sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with a f/2.0 aperture and LED flash along with an 8-megapixel front camera.

The device is 8.3mm thick and weighs 156 grams. In terms of connectivity, it supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, and Bluetooth 4.1. Backing the Honor 5C is a 3,000mAh of battery.

Moto Z and Moto Mods to debut in India by October, confirms Lenovo

Lenovo has finally revealed the availability of its recently launched Moto Z smartphone in India. The device is most likely to be up for sale sometime in September-October this year. Of course, the Moto Mods accessories will always be up for purchase along with the Moto Z. The announcement Moto Z’s India availability was made by Aymar de Lencquesaing, Senior Vice President and Chairman for Motorola and Lenovo.

Interestingly, Lenovo also has plans to venture into offline sales. Until now, the company was selling its smartphones through online-only model in India.

To recap, the Moto Z features a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display and a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button. The device is embodied in metal and is surprisingly thin at 5.2mm. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It bears 32GB/64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. Interestingly, the device is made up of “aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel”.

Moto Mods is the major highlight for these smartphones. These are the snap-on modular accessories, which stick to the back panel of the device with the help of 12 “magical pins” on the rear of these devices. Moto Mods include SoundBoost Mod, PowerPack Mod, and Insta-Share Mod. Most interesting Mod is the Insta-Share Mod, which is a mini projector that can turn the Moto Z smartphone into a 70-inch projector with a 90-degree projection angle. The SoundBoost Mod is made in partnership with JBL, it adds speakers to the rear of the device and also provides added battery backup of 1000mAh. Lastly, the PowerPack Mod is for extended 2200mAh of battery backup for the device. These Mods are most likely retail anywhere between USD 50 to USD 100 (approximately between Rs. 3,400 to Rs. 6,700).

Xiaomi Mi Max with massive 6.44-inch display, 4G VoLTE launching in India on June 30

It has been a while since we heard from Xiaomi in Indian market. Meanwhile, its competitors like LeEco and OnePlus have been making new launches. Now, the manufacturer has decided to break its silence with the launch of Xiaomi Mi Max.

Xiaomi Mi Max will launch in India on 30 June, announced Xiaomi Global Vice President Hugo Barra on Twitter. Launched in China in May, Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a massive display of 6.44-inch. It is full-HD display offering a resolution of 1080x1920p. In China, the device was launched in three variants – 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 3GB RAM/64GB storage, and 4GB RAM/128GB storage.

The 3GB with 32GB storage model is powered a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor and comes with a price of CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,000). The 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage variant, powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor costs CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs. 17,000), and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage costs CNY 1,999 (approx. Rs. 20,500). It is powered by Snapdragon 652 processor.

In terms of other specifications, Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone features a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash. It also has a 5MP front-camera with 85-degree wide-angle view, and a f/2.0 aperture. In terms of connectivity, dual-SIM handset supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Mimo. There is an infrared emitter that will act as a universal remote control, besides an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor. It runs Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

Though large in size, Xiaomi Mi Max is slim and sleek. Added, it comes wrapped in a metal body and has a finger print scanner. A 4850mAh battery completes the package.

OnePlus 3 launched with Snapdragon 820 and 6GB RAM for Rs. 27,999, expected to rival Xiaomi Mi 5


It is finally here! We were waiting about the OnePlus 3 since a few months and the device has finally got launched today. the device is priced at Rs. 27,999 in India and will be up for sale via Amazon India. OnePlus scrapped the ‘invite-only’ system.

In terms of specs and features. The OnePlus 3 comes in metal unibody, which is made using ‘space-grade aluminum alloy’. One of the major highlights of the device is the 6GB of RAM clubbed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset (two cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and two cores clocked at 1.6GHz) and Adreno 530 GPU. The device features a 5.5-inch display 1080p display with Optic AMOLED paired with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It also has a USB 2.0 Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner on the device is embedded under the Home button. The lower front panel also bears capacitive hardware keys.

On the software front, the device runs OxygenOS based on Android 6.0. Marshmallow. In the imaging department, the device sports a 16-megapixel primary camera with OIS and EIS, PDAF autofocus, RAW image support, 4K video recording, Smile Capture mode, Sony IMX298 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. There is an 8-megapixel of selfie snapper with Sony IMX179 sensor, a f/2.0 aperture, and 1080p video recording capabilities. The OnePlus 3 comes with 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The connectivity features include 4G LTE with support for VoLTE and Cat. 6, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and GPS/ A-GPS. The device measures 152.7×74.7×7.35mm and weighs in at 158 grams. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery, which is touted by OnePlus to deliver 60 percent in 30 minutes through Dash charge.

As an inaugural offer, the buyers in India will get a free 12-month subscription to Saavn Pro along with ‘double data’ offer from Idea Cellular for 12 months. Also, users can take advantage of the 12 months of accidental damage coverage via ‘OnePlus Care app’ powered by Servify.

How to Bold, Italicize, and Strikethrough Text in WhatsApp

WhatsApp has tons of awesome features, and it’s always adding more. The world’s most popular messaging app has tons of users and is now completely free, and with apps for every major platform, everyone can take advantage of the powerful service.

The messenger just got a little bit better with new text formatting options. While nothing groundbreaking in the world of text, they do let you express yourself more clearly when messaging friends. The new formatting options are:

Put ~tildes~ around text to strike through it.

Put *asterisks* around text to make it bold.

Put _underscores_ around text and it will be in italics. Now when you refer to Inception, or other movies/books, you can put them in italics and be proper.

Make sure you update your copy of WhatsApp to the latest version before trying this, or these won’t work. Be the first to use these new tricks and your friends will marvel at your amazing text abilities!

LG launches Stylus 2 Plus smartphone with 4G LTE and 3000mAh battery

LG’s Stylus 2 Plus smartphone, which was spotted in a TENAA listing last month, has gone official today. The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch full HD display and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor.

The device is available in 2GB RAM/16GB storage 3GB RAM/32GB storage options. The are also two different camera configurations – 13MP rear/5MP front camera and 16MP rear/8MP front camera. These configurations would vary according to the region. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is backed by a 3,000mAh removable battery. It measures 155 x 79.6 x 7.4mm and weighs 145 grams. Also, the device sports a fingerprint sensor and is available in Titan, Gold, and Brown color options.

LG G5 modular smartphone launched in India at Rs. 52,999 along with free battery module.


LG finally made its G5 modular smartphone official in India, at Rs. 52,990. It will go on pre-ordering exclusively via Flipkart. LG has also launched additional (LG Friends) attachments – LG 360 CAM, 360 VR, and LG CAM Plus.

The device will be up for sale in Silver, Titan and Gold color options. It will also purchasable through retail stores. As a limited period inaugural offer, the LG G5 comes with a Battery and Charging Cradle worth Rs. 3499. The LG 360 CAM is priced at Rs. 21,490, while the LG 360 VR will retail at Rs. 21,990.

The LG G5 comes packed in a fluid metal body and a 5.3-inch QHD Quantum “always on” display, which offers a pixel density of 554 ppl that in-turn makes it a bit smaller than the G4’s 5.5-inch display panel. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 64-bit Kryo cores paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Fingerprint sensor, and USB Type-C connector. The device measures 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7~8.6mm; and weighs 159 grams. The “removable” battery that backs the device is of 2800mAh in capacity. Thankfully, the battery is supported by Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

YU Yunicorn goes official with MediaTek Helio P10 chipset and 4GB RAM at Rs. 12,999.


Micromax’s YU Televentures finally launched its much-awaited smartphone, the YU Yunicorn in New Delhi, today. The device has been aggressively priced at Rs. 12,999. However, this is just an introductory pricing that will be valid for one month, after that the device will be up for purchase at Rs. 14,999.

The Yu Yunicorn runs near-stock Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is being marketed by the company as “Android on Steroids” YU has also promised a substantial update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon. On an upper side, the device comes pre-loaded with apps such as Ola, Uber, Ixigo, and Lybrate (doctor on call), along with Scandid (shopping comparison portal). In one of its kind venture, the YU Yunicorn will also come equipped with “YUWallet” pretty much like PayTM online wallet. As an introductory offer, YU will credit Rs. 400 to your YU wallet on the purchase of the device.
