Motorola unveils Moto E (2nd Gen)

After getting everyone’s hopes up for something unique, Motorola on Wednesday revealed that it is just announcing the new Moto E (2nd Gen) smartphone, which will be released in 4G LTE, 3G as well as 3G dual-SIM versions.

“We’re introducing the next generation, packed with more features and functionality to give people around the world even greater access to life’s possibilities – without a hefty price tag. Because we believe access to the mobile internet should be a choice, not a privilege,” wrote Motorola in a blog post.

Anyway, the new Moto E runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and sports a 4.5-inch qHD display with Gorilla Glass 3. It also comes with 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (Snapdragon 200 in 3G version), 2390 mAh battery and 4G LTE support (optional). Among other specifications, Motorola has included 5MP auto-focus rear camera, secondary front camera, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. Check out the full specifications later in the report.

Motorola also allows the consumers to customize the new Moto E design to their liking by swapping the existing Black or White bands with any one of the six colourful bands being released by the company. It will also offer five colourful Motorola Grip Shells for the phone.

According to Motorola, the Moto E (2nd Gen) goes on sale beginning today in select markets for $119.99 (3G version) and $149.99 (4G version). It will be released in over 50 markets in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia over the coming months.
