HP announces Compaq-branded budget Android tablets

HP recently introduced three new Android tablets in the Chinese market but surprisingly the company has opted for the Compaq brand for these devices.  Dubbed as HP Compaq 7, HP Compaq 7J, and HP Compaq 8, the tablets are already on pre-order and will be available shortly.

Talking about the tablets in detail, all three tablets come with Android 4.2, 1GHz Allwinner A31s quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. On the display front, Compaq 7 comes with 7-inch 1024x600p TN display, Compaq 7J packs the same resolution and size IPS display, however Compaq 8 comes with 1024x768p IPS display.

There is no word on the international availability right now.

HP Compaq 8: ¥ 1,199.00 ($196) (for limited period: 999 yuan)
