Nokia Lumia 1020 gets listed for Rs 49,999

Nokia has promised to announce the price of the 41-megapixel PureView imaging loaded Lumia 1020 on October 10. Meanwhile, the official Nokia Online Store lists it for Rs 49,999.

Nokia launched its top of the line Windows Phone 8 running Lumia 1020 last month. While the price remained a mystery, Nokia's Online Store inadvertently listed the Lumia 1020 at a hefty price of Rs 49,999. The 1020 runs Windows Phone 8 and features a 41 megapixel camera with PureView imaging technology.

Lumia 1020 has a 4.5 inch Amoled display supporting 1280 x 768 pixel resolution. The display has been made using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. This Lumia device is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB on-board storage. Unfortunately, there is no memory card slot.

Nokia has added the 41 megapixel imaging sensor that features PureView imaging technology used previously in the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone. Undoubtedly, this smartphone ranks as the top camera bearing smartphone in the market. The Lumia 1020 has a dual band WLAN support for faster downloads, and it supports 3G networks as well.

The listing points that Lumia 1020 is priced as high as the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note III phablet. The latter phablet packs a much bigger and better display with the option of a powerful eight core/quad core mobile processor. It would be tough competition for Nokia Lumia 1020 to hold fort against high-end devices featuring powerful hardware and distinctive features.
