Samsung launches Galaxy Note 3 in India for INR 49,900

Samsung today announced the launch of Galaxy Note 3 smartphone in the Indian market. The phone, which was unveiled at a press event in New Delhi, will be available beginning September 25 in Samsung smartphone stores and at other major retailers.

According to Samsung India, Galaxy Note 3 will retail for INR 49,900.

Originally showcased at pre-IFA Berlin press event, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the third smartphone in the Samsung’s Note-series, which primarily includes devices with large-screen displays and stylus (S-Pen) support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 packs quite a few improvements over the last-generation Note smartphone. The company has also been able to increase the display size of the phone without increasing the overall dimensions of the device.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone packs a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor, 3GB of RAM, Android 4.3 with Touchwiz UI, 32GB of storage and microSD card slot. The Note 3 also comes with 13MP rear camera with BSI sensor, 2MP front camera with BSI sensor, IR blaster, NFC, 3200 mAh battery and the usual set of connectivity options. On the software front, Samsung in introducing something called My Magazine with Note 3, it provides a personalized news, social media updates, entertainment and in-the-moment content experience. It was been developed in partnership with Flipboard.

Other software tweaks updated Multi Window support with Drag and Drop mode and Pen Window. The company has also enhanced the S-Pen experience on the device by adding more software enhancement for S-Pen specific functions. The smartphone will also come pre-loaded with support for 11 regional Indian languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya and Assamese.

Data offer: Samsung has partnered with Vodafone to provide 2GB of free 3G/ 2G data to Note 3 buyers for two months.

Other offers: According to Samsung, Note 3 buyers will get free stuff from a action called Content Gifts within Samsung apps. This section will go live on October 1 and will provide offers on wide range of services like NY Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bitcasa, Oxford Dictionary and Angry Birds Star Wars 2.

Samsung has revealed that the new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear devices will be available at the company experience stores in select cities on demo starting today, however the sales will only begin on September 25.
