Google makes Quickoffice free for Android

Over a year after it acquired Quickoffice, Google announced on Thursday that it is making Android (iOS as well) version of this office suite free for everyone with a Google account. The company also pushed an updated version of the app in Google Play, which brings a new app icon, better integration with Google Drive and works well on both phones and tablets.

This isn’t all, in order to give a boost to Quickoffice usage, Google has revealed that it is offering free 10GB of Google Drive storage to anyone who signs in using their Google account on Quickoffice. This offer is valid until September 26, so you have a week to grab the free cloud storage.

“With Quickoffice, you can edit Microsoft Office documents across your devices, giving you the freedom to work with anyone no matter what hardware or software they’re using.  Plus, it’s integrated with Google Drive storage so you can safely access your files from anywhere,” Google noted in Google+ post.

Here is a list of Quickoffice for Android features:

Create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files
Access files in Google Drive and on your device
Open and view PDF files
Share files through previously shared Google Drive folders
Attach files to emails

Download Quickoffice from Google Play
