Samsung Galaxy S II might not get any more major Android updates: Report

Samsung seems to be planning to pull the plug on Galaxy S II smartphone and will not be providing any further updates. According to a report on German site Connect.de, Samsung earlier wanted to release Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy S II but after facing problems with Touchwiz UI, it has decided to no longer update the phone.

This is in contrast to some rumours that we have heard in the recent past, which suggest that Samsung might skip Android 4.2.2 update for Android 4.3. As there has been no official announcement regarding the same, there is still a possibility that we might hear some good news but the situation does not look very good.

To remind you, Samsung Galaxy S II is a two year old smartphone and had already got two major Android updates in the form of Android 4.0 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

In related news, SamMobile is reporting that the upgraded version of Galaxy S2 – Galaxy S2 Plus will be getting Android 4.2.2 update.
