LG confirms Optimus G successor will pack Snapdragon 800 processor

LG today issued a press release confirming that its next G-series smartphone will be packing the Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm.  The company did not reveal any other details about the phone but it is pretty clear that it is talking about Optimus G2, which has been leaked and rumoured in the past too.

“With a powerful combination of LG’s core smartphone technologies and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, we are taking a significant step forward in the mobile experience. The result of this collaboration will in many ways be the industry’s best smartphone by which all other devices will be measured,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG Optimus G2 is reportedly going to be launched around August this year and come with a display size more than 5-inch, probably 5.2-inch as reported by a Korean publication recently.
