XOLO to introduce quad-core phones in Q-series, Q800 first: Report

It seems every Indian mobile firm is jumping in the quad-core arena. We first saw Micromax, then Karbonn and now XOLO (a sub-brand by Lava) is planning to launch quad-core Android smartphones in the country. According to online reports, the phone will be part of company’s upcoming Q-series, which is reportedly exclusive to quad-core phones.

The smartphone will be dubbed as XOLO Q800 and is likely to be officially announced by mid-March. There is no word on exact pricing, but the reports suggest the phone will get a price-tag around INR 12-13,000, which is in line with Micromax’s Canvas HD A116 and Karbonn S1 Titanium.

XOLO Q800 is reported to feature a 4.5-inch display of unknown resolution, the obvious quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There is no word on other specifications, but we can anticipate the presence of 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, and dual-SIM connectivity in this phone.

XOLO is also expected to announce a total of four quad-core smartphones in the next two months as the company gears up to take a bigger pie of the mid-range and entry level Android market in the country.
