Acer launches upgraded C7 Chromebook for $280


Acer has announced the launch of an upgraded version of its C7 Chromebook in the United States. This upgraded model is primarily targeted to commercial customers especially schools, but we are likely to see a retail availability too.

“Chromebooks are an ideal option for schools and districts that want to quickly implement a technology program that will significantly enhance student learning,” said Gregg Prendergast, vice president, U.S. Commercial Sales, Acer America.

Upgraded Acer C7 Chromebook features Intel Celeron 847 processor (2MB L3 cache, 1.10GHz, DDR3 1333 MHz), 4GB of RAM,, 11.6-inch HD Widescreen CineCrystalTM LED-backlit LCD , 1.3MP webcam, three USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI port.

Company has also upgraded the battery in C7. “The new Acer C710-2055 Chromebook for customers in the U.S. is powered by a 6-cell battery that delivers up to six hours of life for all-day student learning without having to recharge during school hours,” Acer noted in a press release.

Google and its partners have become very active in the Chromebook space recently. Google also announced the most expensive and beautiful Chromebook till date recently in the form of Chromebook Pixel.

To remind you, HP, Acer, Samsung, Lenovo and Google currently retail Chromebook models.
