Huawei Ascend P2 press image leaked, 13MP camera on board

With hardly a month to go for the Mobile World Congress, official announcements, speculations and leaked images of devices have started creating buzz. After the leaked images of Galaxy Note 8.0, the latest is the leaked press images of Huawei Ascend P2. Going by the looks, with its slim design and sleek body, the device sure looks promising. Apart from this, what begs for attention in the leaked pictures is the impressive 13MP camera. The leaked images are apparently a part of the press kit for MWC.

Even the specifications of the phone look quite impressive. The phone reportedly features a 5-inch display, 1280 x 720 resolution, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, 13MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera. Powered by a 3000mAh battery, it will run on the latest Android Jelly Bean OS. What’s impressive is that Huawei has managed to fit in a 13MP camera in a 6.99 mm thin body. This is one handset to keep an eye on.

In terms of specifications, the Ascend P2 more or less falls in the same bracket as the HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy Note II and the LG Nexus 4. All of them feature quad-core processors. However, the Huawei Ascend P2 scores in terms of camera and even the sleek design. Even though the camera looks good on paper, how good it is in actuality remains to be seen.

Key specifications of Huawei Ascend P2 are as follows:
5-inch IPS display
1.8GHz quad-core processor
2GB RAM
8GB internal storage
13-megapixel rear camera,
1080p video recording
1.3-megapixel front camera
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The Ascend P2 looks all set to make its debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. Alongside, Huawei will also reportedly launch its Windows Phone 8 handset, the Ascend W2. Reportedly measuring only 7.7 mm thin, the device will feature a 4.5-inch HD screen, 8MP camera, dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage.

This won’t be the first Windows Phone 8 device from Huawei; it had already launched the Ascend W1 at the recently concluded 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The 10.15 mm thin phone featured a 4-inch display, 5MP camera, 4GB memory, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 dual-core 1.2GHz processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1950mAh battery. It also unveiled the smartphone with the largest screen, the Huawei Ascend Mate. It features 6.1-inch HD display, a 1.5GHz Hi-Silicon quad-core processor and a 4050mAh battery.
