Apple iOS 6.1 update now available

Apple has quietly released the iOS 6.1 update that brings capability to buy movie tickets, iTunes Match update, and LTE support for more carriers.

Apple has announced the release of the iOS 6.1 software update for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices. The new iOS 6.1 software update packs several improvements and tweaks for three different lines of iOS devices. The software update is now available for download via iTunes Desktop program or over-the-air.

The new iOS 6.1 software update is an incremental one, packing few features and several enhancement tweaks under the hood. New software update adds Long Term Evolution network support for over 30 different mobile operators.

The iTunes Match subscribers will be able to download the songs individually from the iCloud. US based users can use Siri to purchase movie tickets powered by Fandango.

However the new update doesn't have much for the Indian iPhone users, as we do not have FD LTE network in the country. And even movie ticket purchase feature is limited to USA.

New iOS 6.1 software update can be downloaded over the air while the iOS device is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data network. Alternatively, using iTunes on Mac or PC will also download the full update.

The new iOS 6.1 software update is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad (third and fourth generation), iPad mini, iPad 2 and iPod touch (fourth and fifth generation).
