Screenshot tools are ten a penny but only a few truly stand out as useful. SnagIt probably rules the screenshot market but that is a paid app and not everyone is willing to pay for their software. When it comes to free screenshot apps, probably one of the best – if not the best – is Image Snatcher.
Image Snatcher is a small portable cross-platform app sized at 500KB. Being portable, it requires no installation – just download the EXE file from the website and double-click. As soon as you have double-clicked, your computer screen will freeze and you can then drag your mouse across the area you want to capture.
As soon as you have captured the area of the screen you want, it is immediately uploaded to the Image Snatcher servers and a unique URL is generated for you. However, it is worth bearing in mind that it is impossible to delete any of your images from the Image Snatcher servers unless you have a premium account.
