Wicked Leak Wammy Note unveiled in India


Wicked Leak has launched an ICS-based smartphone called Wammy Note in India. As per an official statement released by the company, the Wammy Note, which sports a 5-inch touchscreen, has been priced at Rs. 11,000. The device measures 144 x 89 x 12mm. The Wammy Note is powered by a 1GHz processor, and is fuelled by a 2,500mAh battery. Users have up to 8 hours of talk time and 260 hours of standby time. Wammy Note is available in black and white. The company further adds that the Wammy Note features an 8MP camera with Burst, which can snap 16 photos in 5 seconds. The Wammy Note features an internal storage capacity of 4GB, and an external storage capacity of 512MB.

Wicked Leak claims that Wammy Note users can listen to FM radio on the device without connecting a pair of earphones to it. The smartphone comes with analogue TV and antenna. Some of the other features of the Wammy Note are - Book, Email, Messaging, VPN Services, Google Search, Flash Player, Documents To Go, Wallpapers, Calendar, Calculator, Clock, tethering, and portable hotspot.

At the launch, the company spokesperson said, "The different form factor, features and Price point makes Wammy Note unique even in the 5-inch smartphone category which we expect will catch on once they become more widely available".

The Wammy Note will be available from 30 August 2012 on Wicked Leak's official website.

Wicked Leak was in the news recently, when it announced that its Wammy series of tablets - Wammy 7, Wammy Ethos and Wammy Plus - are slated for a Jelly Bean upgrade in the fourth week of the next month. The company in its statement added that, "The Jelly Bean update for the existing Wammy users will be available in the last week of September. Users will be able to update their tablet over the air (no need to connect to PC) and also through the ROM image , shortly after the updated tablet starts shipping to the users".
