Custom ROM of ICS leaks for the Galaxy S II.

Google only recently announced the next build of Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, and subsequently started rolling out their latest OS to their last year’s Googlephone, the Nexus S. So presently, there are just two handsets running on Android 4.0, the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus. Many users are awaiting the release of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy S II and in mid-November, Samsung U.K confirmed that the handset would receive the update. But, at the time there was no clue as to when it would take place. This news seems to have changed with SamMobile reporting that a custom ROM by Samsung of Android 4.0.1 has leaked online.

This is the second version of the Android 4.0.1 ROM for the Galaxy S II with the first beta releasing just a few days ago. The report states that it is a leaked ROM and features Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. It was created on the 8th of December and though the ROM is faster, it does have a lot of bugs in it. To download this ROM, one can click here and the password for it is samfirmware.com.

One should have technical know how as to how to install the ROM and if installed the user will lose their warranty. So, we advise you to please proceed with caution while doing this or wait till Samsung officially releases an update for the Samsung Galaxy S II.
